Having its cultural origins in 1980’s Chicago, deep house is widely inspired by jazz, funk, soul, Chicago house, house and New York garage genres. Initially, deep house was born out of a fusion of Chicago house and jazz-funk music but today, the most prominent characteristics of this subgenre are its tempo between 110 and 125 bpm, mellow keyboard sounds, uplifting lyrics, ambient mixes, use of percussion elements, advanced chord structures, and muted basslines. With the help of jazz elements like suspensions and complex chords, deep house music aims to take you on a colorful musical journey. Browse our library below to embark!
